Patience of the Saints

The world that we are living today is a world marred with sins. The world is flooded by the effects of sin caused by the separation of man from God. The book of Isaiah tells us that all these are the effects of sin. It says in

 Isaiah 59:2

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear.

Tears, sadness and death, these are the realities of life. But God in His grace is so amazing that when Adam and Eve sinned, He cursed the ground for the benefit of humankind in order to train us to solely depend on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Trials of life, who can escape those? But God is so amazing that He trains us all in this life today so that all of us will be trained for the life to come. The book of James tells us a very important thing about trials in life.

James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

He even expounded in the same chapter the qualities that we need when we are faced in the hardest and pressing times of lives. In verse 19-20 says So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. God is giving us the emphasis on how important it is to be patient. And we see that patience is something that is being produced by the trials that we are facing. No wonder when John the Revelator says in

Revelation 14:12

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

John the Revelator is describing a people who will be victorious. Those who will meet our Savior Jesus Christ when He comes down from heaven to meet His Bride, those who claim the promised crown of life. James 1:21 we were told that not just to receive the Holy word, but to receive it with meekness in perfect submission and complete surrender because that will bring us to eternal life it says,

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

So maybe you are facing a hard and pressing time of your life today, maybe you’re thinking that God is too far or God is too quiet. Brothers, remember the teacher is always quite when He is giving His tests. He wants you and me to pass those tests that are why Jesus says in this world, you will have many tribulations but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. [ssba-buttons]
